I don't remember the details on the lease, but remember thinking it was pretty tempting for me since I rarely have $6K laying around to tie up in software. HSMWORKS now offers a lease program of some type for their 3D so if you get to the point wh we end you need it just upgrade and you're in the same platform. Probably cheaper to buy inventor and download HSMXPRESS than to buy almost any other CAM package out there. It's integrated into Solidworks OR Inventor and does an absolutely phenomenal job of making CAM clean and pleasant. You don't have to remember to change from drill to tap when using a tap. It has much better work flow and is far more intellegent than Mastercam for 2.5D work. I have Mastercam (x5) and Solidworks and about a year ago I downloaded the free HSMXPRESS and have only fired up Mastercam a half dozen times since. One man shop and software is an epic price point. What cam are you using? I am in a very similar boat as you. Is there a more economical program for me that would be similar to mastercam? Bob cam is one program I wont consider because I tried a demo once and it is too different from mastercam and I dont understand anything about it. I am a one man shop with only a TM 1 machine but I do have hopes to trade it in on a VF2 someday. A shop I used to work in used ez cam and they seemed to have good luck with it although they never did very complex parts and I never did any of the programming. I did lots of research before I bought it and decided it was the way to go but I cant help wonder if I made the wrong decision. I do like mastercam I am just questioning if it is worth the money.

If you own a license of the software (e.g., at work or at school) you can still. Note: The Mastercam HLE/Demo Software for this book has expired and will no longer be included.
